been told by a few different programs that I couldn't just append a deep link after my code - is that incorrect of them?

Is there a way they can 'turn off' that ability to append /deepfolder/ordeep-page.html ?

I'm hoping that's a hard and fast 'rule' for NATS rather than a feature that can be enabled/disabled
