I have a few that I've had for a decade with regular use. They don't seem to go bad as often as guitar cables do. I would just buy some that have a lifetime warrantee if possible from a convenient exchange location so you can take them in and swap them in case of issues. Then grab one or two extra in case they crap out at an inconvenient time. Music stores are generally not operating at the same time of day as cables are needed so its always best to have your own reserve.
