I bought my first Mac shortly after the "1984" Super Bowl commercial, and I've owned lots of them over the years since then. I even owned a Dynamac (the SE30 version for those who care), a 20+ pound "portable" clone. I've also used most of the various iterations of the Windows platform, but I just prefer using a Mac. So while I'm a confirmed Mac user who's been fortunate to never have any significant problems with any of them, I usually avoid the threads where people wind up bashing one computing platform over another.
The reason is that I've also been a Jeep owner for even longer than I've been a Mac user. So these discussions kind of remind me of the flame wars that can erupt on other boards between Jeep owners and those who choose to drive the Toyota Land Cruiser, or the Nissan Patrol, the Ranger Rover, Hummer, etc.
My point is that as long as you remember that the map is not the terrain, you can choose to drive whatever will get you where you want to go. So if there are several alternative routes to get there, and multiple choices for the equipment that will all get you to your destination, then it mostly comes down to personal choice. And in that case, just do what makes you happy.
And for those who don't like to read more than a sentence or two before "ooh a bunny!" takes over, here's the short version...
