I don't want Ukraine as part of the EU at all, it is far from ready, I didn't want Romania and Bulgaria to be full members, they are not ready either but was forced on us. I am past caring about the expansionist plans of a deluded and unelected bureaucratic bloated EU... we Brits see through this bullshit.
To be honest, this is just sad, I understand the Russians have a point, these areas/countries have been close but under Soviet times populations were moved around so the Crimea has a large number of Russian speakers. I'd just give Crimea some form of regional autonomy like we have for Wales, N Ireland and Scotland... or any of the 50 states in America... to govern themselves locally... but this is Ukraine and Russia, the top officials would be corrupt as hell.
