So much cherry-picked info to suit agendas here, distorted contexts, etc, on both Ukraine, former Yugoslavia, etc, now we're even talking shit about Mexico! Not even worth responding to it, some of you guys are obviously nationalists and proud of your countries but I think you're missing the greater point:
It's bad to invade a sovereign country - I don't care of you're Russia, the USA, or fucking Djbouti - and anyone who uses the excuse "well, the majority of the citizens in such-and-such area are majority our culture" is just making a pathetically flimsy justification for powermongering and domination. End of fucking story. If you're in favor of it, welp, I dunno what to tell ya...
