I've never understood why this is embarrassing. Buying condoms would indicate that you're getting laid.
It's the times when you walk up to the convenience store counter with a stack of Club, Velvet, Swank, Hawk and Live Young Girls magazines and a giant tub of Vaseline that should be embarrassing.
