I have a friend from Kenya, he goes back to visit every year. He says it's very poor there, but as you said, living like a king will still take around $10,000 a month or more. Cars are extremely expensive. Safe neighborhoods are expensive. Payoffs are expensive. The list goes on and on.

Obviously living like a king in New York City is going to have a different price than living like a king in Salt Lake City Utah, but living like a king in Austin, is probably not too much different than living like a king in San Jose, Costa Rica.
