I had an idea just the other night, but still not really sure if it was a good idea or just one of those ideas that only make sense when you are in a semi-dreamlike state. Basically, kind of like stub-hub but primarily for wedding and celebration venues and services that require a deposit. Ideally, the person who has to cancel gets 90% of their deposit back, the purchaser gets their time slot (especially good for those places that are booked years out in advance), and the business acting as the intermediary gets 10%. Of course, that all depends on the language of the contracts signed when the deposits are payed. It is entirely likely that the deposits are simply forfeit.
