I'm not entirely sure whether obese mothers are more likely to produce a child that has poor health that is not genetically related, but I do know being overweight and pregnant can increase the chances of miscarriage and stillbirths.

If both mothers are getting the required nutrients for a child, there's no difference between the two diets: they're going to have the same baby in terms of health. The outside factors will influence what happens, but food is food, and your body will process it all the same.
