I think he's referring to O'Reilly.
O'Reilly always calls himself "independent". I don't think it's because he's "ashamed"
I think it's because he likes to think he's independent.
But I'd say that O'Reilly definitely pulls the lever for "Republican" when he votes.
Not a big deal. Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, Ed Shulz, Rachel Maddow....does anyone think that they ever vote anything BUT Democrat?
That's just the way it is.
Now amongst the general population...I do believe that most people are independent minded and tend to vote more for each individual candidate and their stance on pertinent issues.
I'm not counting the "47%" of people who strictly vote Democrat for the free stuff they get. That one is a no-brainer. But the rest of the people who actually pay taxes, I believe are more independent of political parties these days.
