If someone came by here a year ago, and stated that the government (NSA) could monitor computers, even when they are not online, that person would have been called a "conspiracy theorist" and people would have posted jokes and tinfoil hat wearing images, etc.
It used to take decades for government secrets to leak out, now it takes much less time...
