the min wage is such a lie (in the uk)
They are wanting the min wage to be £7.
In many supermarkets now they have less staff and more self service.
With call centres they just close them and use call centres in India.
To cover the costs of the min wage firms simply put prices up. Thus goods become more expensive. Thus the poor have less money as what they buy costs more.
A lot of firms get round it by hiring people on less hours but 'suggest' the staff work extra hours for free.
More the costs of products going up the less chance we can export as we become more expensive than other countries.
Some firms now also get round it by taking on apprentices as this way you legally can pay less.
Those who leave school find it now hard to get jobs. In the past they would be taken on cheap to train then as they get experience they would get paid more. But now firms are not taking on young as they cost a lot and have no experience.
More the min wage increases more the chance firs will simply break the law and take people on cash in hand to avoid paying the min wage.
