for long rides the bmw i3 is the solution as it has a petrol motor that runs power to the motor if the batteries die.
the big thing is that this is from china and should be cheap.
at the moment cheap electric cars have low range, such as 40 miles or so, but this car they have seems to do 100 or more miles.
the great problem with electrick cars is going to be charging it. in the uk many people do not have a garage and those who do do not always have mains power in them.
