Seems like some twenty thousand dollars of damage was done. Bieber has been pissing off his neighbors for the past year. They staged an early morning raid because they knew they would find drugs - they were right - and they took so many officers because his house is less of a house in the conventional sense, and more of a party pad where a dozen people live.
The police most likely used the egging as an excuse to take a look and I am guessing they aren't too surprised at what they found.
Not too difficult for the average bear to figure out.
