i've always known this. the happy rich people would have been happy if they were just middle class people. the miserable rich people would have been miserable if they were middle class. and in reverse, the miserable middle class would be miserable if they were rich.

that said, being poor or under financial stress makes even most happy people unhappy the same as poor health does.
