You're missing the point.
We are webmasters remember? I don't care about my personal browsing experience I care about traffic. Below the fold you lose visitors, the further down the greater the loss. If they roll this out globally unless you're in position 1 or 2 you'll see a drop. Their site, their rules, but it's an interesting insight in what the future might hold
