Don't spend any just yet. Do this:
First, figure out exactly what you want to do, and then identify as many markets for it as you can.
For example: Let's say you know a cute blonde 19 year old model and she has agreed to shoot for you. There are several ways you can make money such as
- Build a "solo model" retail website for her
- Build a second website for you that will contain her content and future content you will shoot, also for retail customers.
- Wholesale her content to other sites. You can sell exclusive or non exclusive licenses to use her content.
- Consider selling her content to an existing program who specializes in that type of model.
Etc..
..but before you do this, you should take the guesswork out. Anyone can build a website, but promoting it can be expensive and it is easy to make mistakes. You can easily lose your $40k if you jump in without doing your research first. Keep your $40k in the bank until you know what you want to do.
