The Department of Work and Pensions, headed by Iain Duncan Smith, has extended subsidized wage subsidies to porn industry employers willing to take on Britain?s jobless youth.
But there is a caveat ? the subsidies only apply to production-oriented jobs. Employers will receive no such financial breaks for hiring young performers, Slate reported today.
According to the DWP, compliant companies will receive a £2,275 wage incentive for hiring the young-and-workless.
Taking on part-time employees, the companies will garner only a slightly diminutive £1,137.50 in wage subsidies.
"This government took action to ensure jobs in the adult industry which might exploit jobseekers were not advertised through Jobcentre Plus," a DWP spokesperson said.
They added, "We also ensured that to be eligible for our schemes jobs must not exploit vulnerable jobseekers."
