It is long over due. I live in NorCal and we don't have earthquakes in this area, they tend to hit SoCal or San Fran.
I lived through 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake which wasn't such a big deal, but the aftermath was - We had no power for three days and everything quickly went downhill. Doesn't sound bad until you factor in everything in your fridge goes bad in 24 hours, you can't cook unless you have a BBQ handy, and you can't run to the store to buy anything because.... There's no power.
I am ready - we have plenty of food and water on hand.
