This is one of those situations where genuine honesty could have saved both of us some trouble. When I asked about where she wanted to go there was no indication from her answer that she was going to turn out to be a rabbit with an attitude.
Had I known, I'm sure I could have found a decent substitute, and there's a vegan place a few miles from here. All I needed was to be told: I'm a rabbit with an attitude, so the steakhouse is a bad idea.
