Good luck with that. I finally gave up on Strongbox for the very same problems you are having and went with Password Sentry out of sheer desperation. So far, it seems OK, although I must admit I really do miss Strongbox's interface and features, which I still think are superior to Password Sentry. But Password Sentry has an actual support system and the guy who runs it is very attentive to his customers, the way Ray and Ali were in the past. All good things must come to an end, I suppose. I just wish they would sell it to someone who take over the business and run it with some semblance of customer service, as I would be willing to pay a much higher price than they currently charge if I knew it would be backed up with some assistance when needed.
