Hey Baddog I have to add this because this actually happened on x-mas eve and freaked many people out whom we know in balitmore!
At about 4:30 pm est on x-mas eve baltimore it appeared to be a very normal day with kids outside playing, a bit cold but the skies were clear and sunny.
I had just peered out the window and saw the clear skies for myself and watched somekids playing ball and bike riding,etc.
Then I went upstairs to the bathroom sat down for what was not even 5 minutes and started hearing screams and yells coming from outside!
I went to the window again and there was now a complete white out, heavy ass big ass snow flakes like I had never seen, 30-40 mph hour winds, and skies were dark with no visibility.
Neighbors were outside looking , kids were yelling, I thought it was an actual pole shift on x-mas eve.
So hubby called me upstairs and was like WTF is this??
There is nothing on the radar at all.
The radar is showing clear skies no precip!?!?!?
There was no forecast for snow, no warning on the tv, the skies literally went from clear and sunny to windy with heavy snow and no visibility in under 5 minutes flat!
It was about a 5 minute unannounced freaky creepy mini blizzard that no body saw coming.
You know many times you can see in the distance a storm coming, not this time.
So the next day at x-mas dinner was talking about it to family and friends and everyone witnessed this and all said they never seen a snow storm come out of no where with such intensity and disappear as fast as it came.
The craziest part again is that the people who reported seeing this were from north,south,east,west baltimore so it was a big enough storm to cover at least the entire county of balitmore maryland!
One person out of about 30 people said they seen this before and it was a snow squall.
The oddest part again that still haunts us is that while this was happening it had to cover all of balitmore and 3 radar sites showed clear skies with not a single cloud in sight while this was happening.
Knowing what I know I was like are they now manipulating radar images????
but it was weird for sure.
Just wanted to share that and yes it was 70 degrees a day or 2 before this crazy 5 minute mini snow blizzard.
If it would have lasted 30 minutes I am sure there would have been a few inches of accumulation it was very intense!
