It's all about control, controlling the population so they won't notice (or protest) the economic changes/warfare going on. One day, when the sheeple have all been herded into their appropriate pens and fences and 'restricted free speech zones' the noose will tighten and suddenly everyone will realize they are in a giant, soft-Fascist prison.

In NYC I see countless people trying to navigate the streets while looking at their screens, be they laptop, tablet or smart phone. Great! This is EXACTLY what the (corporate) powers that be want: total distraction. Plus, they make a profit on all those devices! Win-win (for the corps).

Yup, slowly the masses are being led....somewhere I bet they don't want to be when they get there.
