If your domain was in their distribution network and the buyer came from GoDaddy they can. Most smart markets DomainNameSales, Afternic, etc... are moving to distributed listings where sales can happen instantly across many different registrars. So it depends where the buyer came from. If he came from a Sedo distributed listing at GoDaddy then yes GoDaddy can transfer it. If the buyer came from Sedo then ya can blow it off and worst that could happen is they close your Sedo account or release your details to the buyer. They release them in case you wish to take legal action. I have a nice list built up over the last 10+ years of deadbeat buyers/sellers.
Lesson here is keep up on your listings or make them all "Make Offer" if your not going to keep your listings up to date so you don't have to worry about instant transfers as the future will be an increase in aftermarket distributed listings that are fulfilled straight from the registrars.
