I think those questions depend on whats wrong exactly and what is driving the behavior and what each states requirements are for treating sex offenders. For example, a tumor in the frontal lobe, removing ones ability to suppress compulsions and impulsive behaviors and that removes that inner voice that says "thats wrong" HAS caused people to become pedophiles, compulsive gamblers, sex addicts etc etc etc. All well documented and well studied. When the tumor is removed, behavior typically reverts back to normal.
I believe most, if not all states treat people convicted of sex crimes in one form or another and force them through programs in prison and after they serve their sentences.
