I think the only difference with weapons typically, assuming more went down, is that they carry their own charges. "assault with a deadly weapon" type stuff in addition to everything else.

i've never watched those datelines shows, i am familiar with the premise though, what happens to those predators? what charges do they face? is that enough to get them to stop? iow, if these guys called the police and presented them with screen shots and communications, what would happen to that guy?
