We're lucky here where we could easily harness tidal power but our government in this province went against it in favor of low-royalty deals with SWN (oil/gas company) while in neighboring province, they are already generating huge potential and are about to hire a lot of workers to do more tidal power.
The whole thing is a crapshoot.

that due to sloppy operations more than the fracking process as a whole. many many sites operate clean fracking. not saying it can't be frought with eco-concerns but anything having to do with getting oil out of the ground is. the world isn't going to stop using oil until it runs out, we can all count on that and fracking will be a big part of the future. we should all understand the risks and rewards of it and not just poopoo it based on 1 side view.
