15k for a domain? Yeah I don't know about that. The key to a domain name for a site is to have it something that is easy to pronounce, easy to remember, easy to type and has a nice ring to it. Something catchy. You don't need to spend that kind of money for that. Get a .com for sure but you are better off getting one for $10 and spending the 15k on SEO and design.
I registered the name ClamShow.com a month or so ago for $10 and initially thought it was retarded. However now I think I did well with it just because of those factors I listed above.
