It comes from Germanic, from which Yiddish (meaning Judisch, i.e. the dialect of the Jews) is descended, and in German, Schwarz means black. And of course "Negro" means black also. Those are all just words for black. Calling a black person black is only bad in America and only in some circumstances.
Meanwhile, everyone refers to everyone else as Yellow, White, Red, etc. Velasquez has "Brown Power" on his neck. I guess he doesn't mean light skinned blacks or indians. Their skin is the wrong brown.
