Why not? Generics are regulated the same way as brand drugs.
You buy exactly the same stuff and sometimes they are even more quality than the original brand ones.
Viagra patent has already expired a while ago and generic drugs companies are allowed to produce it and sell it as the original company.
The cost is also so much lower because the original producer had to put substantial money on the research and development so they inflate the price to get their money back. Also even big companies like Pfizer, GSK etc are producing their own generic drugs developed by other companies, almost everyone of them has in their portfolio basic drugs that were not developed by themselves so in other words generic ones.
