When I receive correspondence that is effectively "txt speak", I simply delete it. If one cannot take the time to type a few extra letters, phone or no phone, I'm hardly about to waste my time trying to interpret their message.
I'm not talking about typos here -- heck, I am the typo king. I am talking strictly about the laziness that is "txt style".
I've actually received email inquiries about employment opportunities with us using such a lazy and sloppy grammatical approach.
Certainly there are **some** allowances for those where English is not their first language, but I simply will not waste my time with someone communicating with me via such a lazy approach as "txt style" shorthand. It is indicative of their lack of professionalism.
