it is too early to say that 1024*768 is the minimum standart - mostly i'm using 1280*1024 or 1600*1200, but:
1024x768 53.66%
1280x1024 19.51%
800x600 14.63%
etc.
832x624 2.44%

(stat for my site - 3 place).
