Yours says this:
A PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian? subtly complements the black speed knobs and black pickup rings, while enhancing resonance and sustain. The traditional back-angled headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson logo and Les Paul Model.
So only your nut is plek'ed (like mine)
But I still need to replace my nut, it doesnt quite grab the G and B strings right. Slips a little. maybe string trees would be a better option for me, too.

right on, did the store you purchased from have to do any set-up for your's?
i know they all come with a bit of high action, which is fine for me at the moment. but some say that's to make sure no buzzy frets, although gibson states it's for better tone.
bottom line: i have no idea!

. i've had only 1 epiphone not need set-up and no fenders i've had *needed* it. although i'm going to take the strat in for a super set-up. the epi casino needs a fret dressing too.
