I guess it goes with out saying that large corporations collect data on people, but there have been several cases where large corporations have targeted specific people and groups and spied on them.
Many of the world's largest corporations and their trade associations - including the US Chamber of Commerce, Walmart, Monsanto, Bank of America, Dow Chemical, Kraft, Coca-Cola, Chevron, Burger King, McDonald's, Shell, BP, BAE, Sasol, Brown & Williamson and E.ON - have been linked to espionage or planned espionage against nonprofit organizations, activists and whistleblowers."
I could assume this would be the case with the big oil companies, Dow chem and Monsanto.. However some of the others were a bit of a surprise such as BOA, wallymart, coke..
