Don't ask me why but I was reading an article Mariah Carey gave to a magazine about her schedule. During American Idol it went like this (after touring the nation for american idol auditions was complete and they were doing the show in LA.) 1pm-4pm check in for show rehearsal, 5pm-10pm on set for live show. 11pm-5am - at recording studio writing and recording album music. In between all that she is managing different brands she owns, doing phone, television and print interviews and trying to spend time with family.
People that get to the level of success that Christina/Mariah are at don't sit around and do nothing, they get there because they are constantly working. Christina also has a son who I'm sure demands a good chunk of her free time.

Interesting. I still think being able to afford the best trainers, personal chef / custom meal services and having the motivation of being in the public eye need to be factored in when praising her accomplishment.
