My reply is 100% correct and has nothing to do with homeschooling. By sending your child to a public school, you are asking the government to educate and help parent your child. If you send them to a private school or home school them, you are choosing to keep the government out of the role of your child's development. That is the choice.

Home schooled kids have to learn a basic amount of information that is given to them by the state. That is not the same as immersing them in a public school system. Not even close. That is the bare minimum they have to learn, not the full public school curriculum and all the nonsense that goes along with going to a public school.
