What you need to do is ask your accountant about this, because how you do it can be different depending on where your studio is.
In Montreal for example, you can hire your chat models to be employees, or sub contractors. Employees is hard to do because you will have to collect taxes based on their pay and remit them to the government, but if they are sub contracts you don't have to collect the taxes and instead can pay them 100% of their earnings.
If they are working from your location, they must work less than a certain amount of time otherwise it would be illegal for you to employ them as sub-contractors, and you must then turn them into salaried employees.
The rules can be different depending on where you are as I said earlier, so the best thing to do is to ask an accountant and they will tell you how to do it.
