Well if you want to stay away from any sort of "labeling" or political terms and just plain simply ask if Wall Street succeeded in finding a new ingenious way to "create" artificial non existing wealth out of everyone's debts, pack it and then get bailed out by the government then yes
But then again, the roots of this had been laid out fourty years ago already, it just went way too absurd between 2002 - 2007 so the eventual meltdown got more brutal than just about anybody would ever believe.
To blame one or another politician is just a proof that they do something right covering their ass(-ets)
