I've got a pretty big back piece and I remember those first few days after it healed up. I had my partner smacking me on the back for days! Cold does help, like Trollenstein says.
And VDBucks...if it still itches, that's not a good thing. My brother has a ton of tattoos but there's one on his thumb that constantly bubbles and itches. He's had it for months and he figures it was a bad batch of ink. :-/
