I do not know the exact percentages of course. I can absolutely tell you that millions of dollars of goods destined for Aceh victims found their way into the black market. I have also heard that the Red Cross had to pay the government money to enter into Aceh to start the relief efforts. There are also thousands of Javanese workers that the red cross never paid or under paid. The red cross received over 2 billion dollars in donations for the tsunami fund and I will kiss you ass if half of that was spent in the region.

Look, I am not saying the red cross is a bad organization. But if you think 95% of donations(including logistics) go to the people in need, you are living on fantasy island. It is more efficient than sending cash to these governments, so it is a good option to get some relief to people in need. Let's be honest, it is far from perfect.
