Yeah, he was. First it was meth. When I finally got him past that, it was enormous quantities of alcohol. He finally got serious about wanting help and had been sober for about 6 weeks before he died, which brings a bit of peace. I'd much rather him die sober than drunk. And he'd been all excited about God those last weeks, too.
