As I lay in bed tonight at my hotel, 2 thousand miles from home, waiting to grow tired enough to sleep, into my thoughts entered the lyrics of a group called "N.W.A." from my teen years. My brother and I used to blast their music when our parents weren't home. We felt like gangsters. The lyrics to their music are still horrid, but will be stuck in my head for life, and I can't help but smile when those same lyrics enter my brain, because I know that if my brother was alive I'd only have to say a few words from the lyrics and he'd finish the entire song. And that, my friends, makes me both happy and sad at the same time. I feel like laughing as I cry. Having a sibling who dies at at 36 will do that to you, I guess.
