What we do is learn who people are. Once we know who they are we decide if we can work with that. What are you giving them a second chance for? To be somebody else? Who is gonna be somebody else? Maybe you are giving yourself a second chance to evaluate them? That's all it is.

You learned who this person was and it cost you $100. So the value of that knowledge is $100. Do you want to throw those $100 away and re-roll heavily weighted dice in the hopes of things being the way you want them to be instead of the way they are?

Knock yourself out but you know what the outcome will be already.
