funny to find an argument about religion in a forum like this... are we looking for atonement ;]
based on some of the comments, and not only from this thread, it's a very sensitive topic for sure, and even tho it might be difficult to logically prove this fact, it seems that there are two kinds of people in the world... those who have faith and those who don't.
to say nothing of the fact that faith could be hardwired into our DNA
[ link ], faith could simply be considered a skill just like any other... and it's definitely not a skill taught in a government or communist school. Furthermore, it seems that those who don't have it are hating on those who do, blaming religion for the ills of this world, and calling the faithful brainwashed.
if religion is brainwashing, what the fu&* would we call watching government owned television in capitalist America?
sure "religion" [man in power] has made dumb ass mistakes in the past, but it's the only thing mankind has that resembles anything good.
as Jel so eloquently put it:

...one could wonder if the world would have been different if women would have been allowed, no doubt by GOD, to wield the mighty sword of righteousness instead of dumb ass, violence prone, impotent, child molesting, 72 virgin promising assholes (men).
