More text - search engines love text. Bigger pictures.
Why aren't your categories on the sidebar? One huge list? I think your categories are on the top, but move them down on the side bar. Once you have forty categories it will look silly with them all on the top.
Also, put a logo on it. A simple logo makes a huge difference and it's cheap enough to have made:
