I met very few smoking hotties. Most were music and film nerds. Some were hot but most not.
What killed journalism were the major corporations who stepped in and began to filter reality versus their agenda. Letterman used to joke about GE but it was more of a problem than even ol Dave would let on.
Corporate concept of do not offend anyone eventually filtered into TV and movies. Especially movies.
These days the control is more open. Hard news is gone and news about ponys and rabbits and the Kardashian skank celebrity TMZ scenes are taken for real news.
