She says some things that would not make sense to her but makes a lot of sense to people on
food stamps.
Key points :
1. They get the whole months money at once.
If they spend it as they "need it" they will always run out of money before then end of the month. ( no debate here bro!)
Therefore. it's best to buy a months supply of groceries when they get the money.
2. Vegetables spoil, or take up freezer space....too much space!!
3. Cereal, chips, sugary drinks, canned food does not spoil in a month
4. Junk food is "higher calorie per dollar". You can live for 4 weeks off $20 of cookies;
try that with $20 of celery and you die of starvation.
Junk food is purchased because when there is no more meat,fish or poultry left, a box of cookies will work to replace it all in calories.
5.
Junk food does not need to be cooked. Food stamps don't pay electric and gas bills.
6. Someone bought some steaks and lobster? Did she ask them if they eat 99 cent hot dogs for lunch and oatmeal for breakfast for 3 days before they ate a steak?
That would be 8 steaks a month.
7. How many people are the one food stamp person shopping for?
Many people on food stamps have dependents.
A parent with a 15 and 14 yr old is going to have more in the buggy that a single person.
8. Nobody teaches good nutrition and shopping anyway, WTF do we expect?
