At best you might have luck setting up a very "niche" dating site and gaining success. But Asian is not niche enough. Its still too big of a market to try and take over for a small fry.

I was traveling around up in Vermont over the summer and noticed at one semi decent sized town, that someone was trying to jump start a local dating site for that town (was a college town). They had hand made signs all over at various intersections.

You could possibility do something like that and mix it with a local club scene info site or local happenings type thing. Essentially try to create a site for locals to use, but then again you would have to have the "right" kind of city/town to pull that off.

To work that into a Asian thing, create a Asian dating site for a local big city around you that you could market like I posted or something similar. If you can pull that off, then perhaps add in other cities nearby. Then get your advertising from local businesses.
