Same with rape. Does a guy whose attorney advises him to take a plea over a date rape with he said she said evidence about whether it was consensual or the female was just a little too drunk and regretted it after she was slut shamed by her friends the next day deserve the same sentence as a career criminal who conks an old lady over the head with a metal pipe and raped and beat her for four hours in her apartment?

Your overly simplistic and harsh punishments and don't make sense and won't work. Even our flawed justice system recognizes different degrees of crimes and has a lot of latitude for sentencing based on the individual facts and circumstances as well as other mitigating factors such as the person's criminal history or lack thereof.
