On Walmart -- Walmart is part of the consolidation trend in the USA and the consolidators like Walmart (or Tesco for that matter) gaining a foothold in the world's markets.

Walmart's HR policies towards their employees produce "bad profits". If Walmart was willing to share a little more with their employees, and even raise their prices a little, Walmart would not have the bad reputation they have within the responsible business and consumer community that they have to deal with now.

On wages and healthcare benefits subsidies -- Businesses that employ more than 1000 employees should have certain regulations applied to them -- such as their employees should not be able to receive welfare benefits, food stamps, or be supported by healthcare insurance subsidies for reason of their jobs paying below market wages.

Businesses that employ over 1000 employees should be financially able to, and to be competitive employers, pay their employees a liveable wage and reasonable health and pension benefits.
